The First Church in Albany was originally built in 1642 and is one of the oldest existing churches in the United States. The Dutch heritage of the church is evident in its records archive dating back to the 17th century as well as in many of the artifacts remaining within the church, including the nation's oldest pulpit and many pieces of antique Colonial silver. The church is located in Albany's downtown theatrr district, west of the Riverfront Park.
